Severed Head of Young Boy Found in Moscow Backpack

On November 14th, 2025, a horrific discovery was made in Moscow, Russia. Workers at Golyanovsky Pond, located eight miles northwest of the Kremlin, found a backpack containing the severed head of a young boy.

According to initial reports, the child was strangled and then beheaded. Marks and bruises were found on the victim's neck, suggesting forced strangulation. The preliminary cause of death is asphyxia. The schoolboy, believed to be between 7-10 years old, has not yet been identified.

A massive search of the lake involving divers failed to uncover any further human remains. The backpack was found inside a red plastic bag, which was thrown into the pond two days prior. Police are now searching for a possible suspect described as a 5'11" male of medium build, who was seen disposing of the bag.

This tragic incident comes on the heels of another recent child death, where a 2-year-old boy in Italy accidentally strangled himself on his own sweatshirt at a nursery school. Authorities have launched a manslaughter investigation into both cases as they work to uncover the full details and bring the perpetrators to justice.
