Summary
- Service dog FiFi was shot and killed by a deputy during an attempted arrest.
- The owner claims FiFi was not aggressive and was wearing a service dog collar.
- A trainer confirmed FiFi had extensive training and was not a threat.

A 3-year-old service dog named FiFi was tragically shot and killed by a Cobb County Sheriff's Office deputy on Wednesday, July 8, at a home in Powder Springs, Georgia. The incident occurred while deputies were attempting to serve an arrest warrant at the residence.
Calvin Willis, FiFi's owner, stated that deputies entered his property without announcing themselves, despite being informed that the individual sought did not reside there. Willis maintains that FiFi, who was in the carport, was not aggressive and was wearing a service dog collar.
However, the Cobb County Sheriff's Office claimed that FiFi charged at the deputies. Piper Hill, CEO of Healing for Heroes, the organization that trained FiFi, refuted this, emphasizing FiFi's extensive training, exceeding 8,000 hours, and her non-aggressive temperament.
Willis, who relied on FiFi for assistance with PTSD, brain trauma, and memory loss, is now advocating for policy reviews regarding law enforcement interactions with service animals.
