Saldívar was found guilty in 1995 of murdering the iconic Tejano singer Selena Quintanilla. The conviction stemmed from an incident on March 31, 1995, where Saldívar shot Selena during a confrontation over embezzled funds. Selena was fatally wounded and later pronounced dead.
Eligible for parole after serving 30 years, Saldívar's bid for release was ultimately denied. She is currently serving her life sentence at the Patrick O'Daniel Unit in Gatesville, Texas, with her next parole review scheduled for March 2030.
