A five-year-old boy named Nikhil, who was kidnapped from Secunderabad Railway Station, has been found safe after 12 days. The abduction occurred while the child was sleeping next to his grandmother at the station. Authorities registered a kidnapping case after reviewing CCTV footage that showed a man leading the boy away.
An intensive search by four special police teams spanned from Hyderabad to Vijayawada. The case took an unexpected turn when the suspect, Sheikh Mahboob Ali, 40, appeared at the Jeedimetla Police Station with the child. Ali asserted he discovered Nikhil on June 29, provided medical care for a fever, and then decided to hand him over to the police.
Investigators are treating Ali's account with skepticism, given the available CCTV evidence. The motive behind the kidnapping is yet to be definitively established. Ali, who works at a hotel, reportedly lives alone after his family left him. The safe recovery has brought immense relief to Nikhil's family, and the case is now with the Government Railway Police for further legal proceedings.
