A violent shooting at the Bite of Seattle food festival on Sunday night left three people dead and at least seven others injured. Authorities have apprehended a 15-year-old suspect and are investigating the possibility of gang involvement. Court documents suggest a second suspect, a 19-year-old man, was among those who died at the scene.
The deceased victims have been identified as Carlos Israel Sanchez Villalba, 44, who was a husband and father of three; Ashley Whitehead, 56, who was enjoying the festival with her daughter; and the 19-year-old male, believed to be a suspect. A third suspect is still being sought by police.
Among the injured was a 2-year-old boy, who was hospitalized in stable condition and later discharged. Other victims included a 39-year-old woman, a 23-year-old man, and a 27-year-old man, all of whom were treated and released. A 44-year-old woman sustained minor injuries and declined medical transport.
