Police in Scotland have arrested four men during a "day of action" targeting gangland violence. The operation, part of the ongoing investigation known as Operation Portaledge, saw warrants executed at addresses in Bellshill and Motherwell. During the raids, four stolen vehicles were recovered by authorities.
One 29-year-old man was charged in connection with a vehicle colliding with a house in Eaglesham on August 21. Another 21-year-old was arrested and charged for a disturbance in Kirkintilloch and a wilful fireraising incident in the same area on August 18 and August 22, respectively. A second 21-year-old was also charged for the August 22 fireraising. Additionally, a 31-year-old man was charged for a car fire in Glasgow on April 6.
These latest arrests bring the total number of individuals apprehended as part of Operation Portaledge to 81. Detectives are continuing extensive inquiries, examining CCTV footage, and conducting forensic analysis to identify any further individuals involved in these incidents.
