Ajay Shinjin, a 26-year-old, has been jailed for his involvement in a sophisticated SIM-swap fraud operation. This scam allowed criminals to hijack phone numbers within 20 seconds, leading to the theft of at least £200,000 from unsuspecting victims. Shinjin openly displayed his ill-gotten gains online, including diamond-encrusted gold teeth coverings and luxury purchases, projecting a "Champagne lifestyle."
Operating as part of an "A-Team" of scammers, Shinjin used aliases like 'Ghost CEO' and 'Chief Sosa.' The City of London Police arrested him multiple times, eventually gathering enough evidence from incriminating phone data and recovered devices. This crime network thrives on social media platforms, coordinating attacks to drain victims' bank and cryptocurrency accounts.
