A disturbing chemical attack has left a 46-year-old woman severely burned and hospitalized in Augusta, Georgia. The victim, Ashley Wasielewski, was walking in Savannah's well-known Forsyth Park on Wednesday night when an unknown assailant poured a corrosive liquid over her. The chemical caused extensive second- and third-degree burns covering approximately half her body, including her face and scalp.
Wasielewski's son confirmed the extent of her injuries, stating she was not targeted and has no known enemies. She was reportedly turning to face someone approaching from behind when the liquid was thrown. The substance was so potent it even melted her car key fob, highlighting its extreme corrosiveness. Police are investigating the incident as an attack by a stranger and are collaborating with the FBI to identify the chemical used.
