A Chandigarh district court has issued summons to Bollywood actor Salman Khan and his sister Alvira Khan Agnihotri concerning a cheating complaint. The case involves allegations linked to a 'Being Human' jewellery showroom in Manimajra. The court has mandated their appearance on October 5 to address the accusations.
The complaint was lodged by Arun Gupta, a Chandigarh-based businessman. Gupta claims he was induced to invest approximately Rs 3 crore in the showroom through deceitful promises of strong business prospects. He asserts that significant financial losses, running into several crores, were incurred as a result.
Gupta detailed that he fulfilled all contractual obligations after investing in the showroom. However, he alleges that the company failed to provide promised business support, leading to substantial financial detriment. The jewellery outlet has reportedly been shut since February 2020, impacting inventory and business operations.
Representatives for the company have previously denied the allegations, asserting that Salman Khan was not directly involved in the 2018 business agreement. They emphasized that the 'Being Human' brand was licensed to Style and Content Jewellery Pvt Ltd in 2015, with the company solely responsible for the jewellery business operations.
