- A man was found shot after a crash near State University Drive.
- Police are investigating a possible link to gunfire reports at Sacramento State.

In the early hours of Sunday, September 7, 2026, four people were wounded in a shooting incident in Sacramento. Police responded around 12:30 a.m. near Cucamonga Avenue and Ramona Avenue, where three women were found with gunshot wounds. Two were transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the third was treated at the scene for minor wounds.
Later, officers were dispatched to a vehicle crash on Folsom Boulevard and State University Drive. There, they found a man who had also been shot, whose injuries were also deemed non-life-threatening. This location is in proximity to Sacramento State University, where police had received reports of gunfire near a parking structure during a football game the previous Saturday night.
Authorities are currently investigating whether the shooting incidents are connected to the earlier reports of gunfire on the Sacramento State campus, which had prompted a brief shelter-in-place order. No suspect information has been released, and no direct link between the events has been established as of Sunday morning.
