Sabrina Kahler's body has never been found, but authorities now believe they know her burial location thanks to a witness who claims to have helped inter her remains. Kahler vanished on June 24, 2002, after meeting David Heck, her boyfriend's cousin, in Pennsylvania.
Eyewitness accounts have since emerged, contradicting Heck's earlier statement that he dropped Kahler off at a shopping center. A fisherman reported hearing a scream at Fairview Gravel Pits on the day of her disappearance, and Heck's former cellmate alleged Heck confessed to raping and killing a girl there.
Douglas Heim also stated that Heck recruited him to help bury Kahler's body shortly after the crime. Based on this evidence, a grand jury recommended murder, rape, and kidnapping charges against Heck.
Heck, now 50, was apprehended in Indiana and is currently awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania. The Attorney General's office stated that this breakthrough provides some answers for Kahler's loved ones and the community, though efforts to locate her body continue.
