Thirty-six gold samples collected as part of the Sabarimala temple gold misappropriation probe have been sent to the National Metallurgical Laboratory in Jamshedpur for scientific examination. The Kerala High Court was informed that the laboratory will conduct tests expeditiously and provide results free of charge. This analysis is considered crucial for filing the final report by March 31.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) also informed the court about efforts to obtain call data records from mobile service providers for phones allegedly used by accused individuals. The court granted permission for the SIT to make necessary requests to these providers.
Furthermore, a preliminary inquiry has been ordered into alleged irregularities concerning the temple's flag mast. The Director of the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau has appointed an officer to conduct this inquiry, with a report due within 30 days. The matter is scheduled for further hearing on March 26.
