Summary
- Film personalities are recording statements regarding Sabarimala's flag mast gold.
- Donors confirmed gold contributions, some recalling quantity, others not.
- Vigilance plans to question 27 donors and seek public assistance for more.

Vigilance officials in Thiruvananthapuram have initiated the process of recording statements from prominent film personalities. This is in connection with the alleged irregularities surrounding the reinstallation of the flag mast at the Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa temple in 2017. The probe focuses on gold donations made for the project.
Filmmakers Shaji Kailas and Renji Panicker, along with producer G Suresh Kumar, have reportedly confirmed their gold donations to the vigilance team. They stated that the contributions were in the form of coins and provided details of the quantity donated. However, some individuals who donated gold mentioned they did not recall the precise weight of their contributions.
Further, actor Mohanlal and Union minister Suresh Gopi have indicated their willingness to provide statements to the vigilance officials. The department aims to complete recording statements from all 27 individuals listed in the devaswom records as gold donors within the current week. They are also investigating whether any other individuals, not listed in the records, also contributed gold for the reinstallation.
In an effort to gather comprehensive information, vigilance officials are considering issuing a public notice. This notice would request anyone who contributed gold for the flag mast reinstallation to come forward. By accounting for the declared quantities and any provided evidence, vigilance authorities expect to determine the total amount of gold received.
