RTI activist Amit Maurya sustained a bullet injury near his neck during an incident on Monday night. He and his friend, Sandeep Gavas, were near Gavas's parked vehicle when an assailant on a motorcycle opened fire. While Maurya and Gavas dodged some shots, one bullet grazed Maurya's neck, and another hit a wall. The motorcycle used by the attacker, identified via CCTV, was later found abandoned in Mumbra. This bike was reported stolen from Sanpada. Maurya underwent a successful operation to remove the bullet and is recovering. Police are currently investigating the motive behind the attempted murder, stating that it's too early to confirm if it was a contract killing. Further clarity is expected once the shooter is apprehended.
