A significant robbery involving Rs 64 lakh has been uncovered by the Mehsana Local Crime Branch (LCB), leading to the arrest of two suspects. The perpetrators had deceived the complainants by promising lucrative overseas employment opportunities in Australia for their son and an associate. These individuals were successfully apprehended by police, with a portion of the stolen money and the vehicle used in the crime recovered.
The con artists built trust through consistent communication, eventually arranging flight tickets to Delhi. They instructed the victims to bring Rs 64 lakh, presented as processing fees for the purported job arrangements. Upon reaching a guest house in Delhi on April 19, 2026, the victims were confronted by two men who threatened them with a pistol and absconded with the cash.
Further investigation, utilizing technical surveillance and CCTV footage, led to the identification of a car seen near the crime scene. Several other individuals believed to be involved, including some from Rajasthan and Malaysia, are still at large. Both arrested accused have prior cheating offense registrations against them. The initial robbery complaint was filed on April 20, 2026.
