The bust yielded hundreds of kilograms of chemicals, capable of producing about 100 kgs of Mephedrone with an estimated street value of Rs. 40 crores. The mastermind, identified as Vala Ram, was apprehended along with four other individuals.

NCB investigations revealed that Mephedrone is seeing rising usage in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra. The arrested mastermind, a graduate, turned to illicit drug production after failing civil service exams. He sourced chemicals from Gujarat and utilized the darknet to learn manufacturing processes, communicating with his syndicate via virtual SIMs.

This successful operation was facilitated by NCB's monthly District Level NCORD meetings, which enhanced local police awareness and reporting of suspicious activities. Red flag indicators for clandestine labs were shared nationwide. Authorities also seized the vehicle used for transporting chemicals and equipment, and confirmed that 8 kg of Mephedrone had already been manufactured, with 2 kg intercepted by another agency recently.
