Mumbai police have apprehended a domestic worker employed by Sachin Ahir's family, accusing him of stealing valuables estimated at Rs 2.65 crore from his Worli residence. The arrested individual, Pravin Ramesh Solanki, aged 45, had reportedly served the Ahir household for approximately two decades.
Investigators suspect Solanki exploited his long-term access and knowledge of the home's contents to carry out the alleged thefts over a period of roughly three years. The disappearance of items including gold, diamonds, silver, and cash was discovered recently when a family member noticed a missing piece of jewelry.
The Crime Branch is leading the investigation and has reportedly recovered about 325 grams of gold from a Mumbai jeweler. Police are also seeking to locate three other domestic workers believed to be associated with the alleged crime and involved in selling the stolen property.
