Early Saturday morning, Aashiana police made a significant seizure of Rs 26 lakh in unaccounted cash. The money was discovered concealed within a BMW and a Scorpio SUV parked near Social Point Restaurant in Lucknow. This discovery came about during a routine police operation focused on high-end SUVs exhibiting tinted windows, unauthorized hooters, and improper number plates.
Officers noticed a BMW with an unusual number plate and tinted windows, alongside a Scorpio SUV, with three men exhibiting suspicious behavior nearby. When questioned, the individuals could not produce vehicle documents or provide a valid explanation for the Rs 26 lakh found in bundles of Rs 500 notes. The Income Tax Department was promptly alerted and arrived at the scene to initiate legal proceedings. The three arrested men have been identified as Shivanshu Pandey (21), Rochman Verma (19), and Rachit Thakur alias Atharv (21). Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the origin, ownership, and purpose of the seized funds.
