City police in Jaipur have launched a manhunt for Dipendra Singh alias Sagar, a prominent member of the Rohit Godara gang, offering a Rs 25,000 reward for his capture. Sagar disappeared after obtaining five days' interim bail, failing to surrender as mandated. He is a wanted fugitive in connection with two separate murder investigations.
Sagar's disappearance came to light when he failed to return to jail by the specified deadline. Police found serious discrepancies during post-bail verification, including a surety with a fake address. It was uncovered that Sagar had communicated with the abroad-based gangster Rohit Godara using an encrypted app while incarcerated.
Further inquiries revealed that Godara allegedly transferred Rs 25 lakh to Sagar's associate via hawala. This associate also traveled to Dubai, facing scrutiny in another murder case. Multiple police teams are actively searching across Rajasthan and Haryana, anticipating Sagar's attempt to rejoin Godara's extensive criminal organization.
