As of Tuesday, police in Lucknow have placed a Rs 25,000 reward on information that could lead to the apprehension of Jai Krishna Tiwari, aged 25. He is a suspect in the murder of transporter Dhirendra Pratap Singh, 40. Jai Krishna is the younger sibling of Ravi Kishore Tiwari, 28, who has already been arrested.
Investigators suspect Jai Krishna played a role in arranging the pistol allegedly used to kill Singh. The victim sustained fatal gunshot wounds to the chest and head inside his SUV on August 30. His blood-stained vehicle was later found, and his body was reportedly disposed of in a canal near an orchard in Sarai Prem Raj, Dubagga.
Ravi Kishore Tiwari was arrested on Monday, with authorities alleging he accepted a Rs 40 lakh contract to eliminate Singh due to an Rs 8 crore property dispute in Unnao. During interrogation, Ravi reportedly disclosed purchasing the pistol for Rs 70,000.
Authorities have assembled a team to locate Jai Krishna, citing his prior criminal history. An associate, Onkar Sahu, has also been detained for allegedly aiding in the disposal of the body. Investigations are exploring potential links to land mafias and the Unnao dispute, while searching for a suspected mastermind and another absconding accused.
