- A nine-year-old boy sustained head injuries after a Rottweiler attack.
- The dog owner was booked by police for failing to control the animal.
- This is the second reported Rottweiler incident in Ahmedabad recently.

On June 9, 2026, a nine-year-old boy was attacked by a Rottweiler in Ahmedabad's Vastrapur area, sustaining head injuries that necessitated 14 stitches. The incident occurred while the boy was playing outside a bungalow where his father was working. The dog, reportedly off-leash, attacked the child and dragged him, leading to the severe head injury and the need for anti-rabies vaccinations.
The owner of the Rottweiler, identified as Alpa alias Anjali Hitesh Rajput, was subsequently booked by the Vastrapur police. Charges were filed under sections related to failing to control an animal and causing hurt. This event is the second notable Rottweiler-related incident in Ahmedabad within the past year, following a fatal attack in May 2025.
Concerns about the dog's off-leash behavior had been raised previously by residents of the Lad Society, with reports of prior aggression. Following the latest attack, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation's Cattle Nuisance Control Department visited the site. The dog has reportedly been moved to a farmhouse outside the city by its owner to prevent further incidents.
