Romeo Beckham, 23, has been convicted and fined for using his mobile phone while driving in central London. The incident took place last September in Westminster, where police observed him scrolling on his phone while stopped at traffic lights in his Porsche 911. Officers noted he seemed distracted, and a dog was also present unrestrained on the passenger's lap.
Following the stop, Romeo was offered words of advice regarding the dog. However, after failing to respond to a fixed penalty offer and driver awareness course, he was prosecuted. He was subsequently fined $590 (£440) and given three penalty points on his driving licence for being a driver not in a position to have proper control of a vehicle. Additional costs of $174 (£130) and a $236 (£176) victim surcharge were also ordered.
