Children of renowned Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Reiner have broken their silence following the couple's tragic deaths and their brother Nick's subsequent arrest. In a statement on Wednesday, siblings Jake and Romy Reiner conveyed "unimaginable pain" over the "horrific and devastating loss" of their parents, whom they described as "best friends."
Nick Reiner, 32, appeared in a Los Angeles court on Wednesday, waiving his right to enter a plea to two charges of first-degree murder. The couple was discovered deceased in their home on Sunday, with the medical examiner ruling their deaths a homicide caused by multiple sharp force injuries. Nick Reiner was taken into custody on Sunday and formally charged on Tuesday.
The defense attorney for Nick Reiner emphasized the need for restraint and dignity in the legal process, suggesting that a delay in entering a plea might allow for a psychiatric evaluation. Rob Reiner was celebrated for directing films such as "This is Spinal Tap" and "Misery," while Michele Singer Reiner was an actress, producer, and founder of a photography agency. A subsequent court hearing is scheduled for January 7th.
