In Bijnor, police arrested three individuals, including a fellow doctor, in connection with the murder of paediatrician Rajkumar. The shooting took place two days prior inside Dr. Rajkumar's chamber in Nagina town, carried out by a man posing as a patient. Investigators revealed the crime was pre-planned, stemming from a financial dispute between the victim and another doctor, Neeraj Kumar.
Dr. Rajkumar and Dr. Neeraj Kumar had a past professional connection and jointly opened a hospital in 2022. However, disagreements over finances and loan repayments led Dr. Rajkumar to dissolve their partnership and establish his own hospital in January 2024. The new venture's success allegedly caused financial strain for Dr. Neeraj Kumar's hospital.
Authorities stated that Dr. Neeraj Kumar is believed to have masterminded the murder, offering Rs 10 lakh to an assailant, Vikas, who received Rs 2 lakh in advance. The incident occurred on Thursday evening, with the attacker firing upon Dr. Rajkumar while pretending to seek medical consultation. A complaint filed by the victim's sister led to an FIR, uncovering the involvement of Dr. Neeraj and another individual, Aryan. Recovered items include firearms, ammunition, and the Rs 2 lakh cash.
