5 Mar
Summary
- Ex-lover testified about a chilling conversation with Kouri Richins.
- Richins allegedly asked her lover how it felt to kill someone.
- Romantic texts between Richins and her lover were presented.

During the eighth day of Kouri Richins's murder trial, her former lover, Robert Josh Grossmann, provided emotional testimony. He recounted a conversation where Richins allegedly asked him about the experience of killing someone, noting he had served in the Iraq War. This occurred approximately ten days after her husband, Eric Richins, died from a fentanyl overdose. The court also reviewed romantic text messages exchanged between Richins and Grossmann, which prompted Grossmann to become visibly upset, wiping away tears. Grossmann testified that he had moved to Utah in early 2020 to work with Richins in flipping houses, and their relationship turned romantic shortly before his move. He admitted to being deeply in love with Richins. Prosecutors allege Richins poisoned her husband with a fentanyl-laced Moscow Mule, motivated by her affair and a desire to inherit his $4 million estate. Richins has pleaded not guilty to all charges. The affair began in early 2020, and Richins reportedly ended it several months after Eric's death in March 2022.
