Twin sister's brutal, unsolved murder haunts actress
24 Mar
Summary
- Lois Roberts' decapitated body found five months after disappearance.
- Actress Rhoda Roberts fought for justice for her twin sister.
- Suspect identified but lacked sufficient evidence for charges.

TV star and Indigenous arts leader Rhoda Roberts died at age 66 following a battle with ovarian cancer. Her passing marks the end of a life dedicated to the arts and a long, personal quest for justice.
Roberts was deeply affected by the unsolved murder of her twin sister, Lois Martha Roberts. Lois vanished in mid-1998, and her decapitated remains were found in January 1999 in Whian Whian Forest, west of Byron Bay.
The remains showed signs of torture and captivity, with her head never recovered. The police investigated a man living at a Nimbin caravan park, who had a map in his car potentially leading to the grave, with Rhoda's name on it.
Despite significant police attention, including an SBS podcast exploring theories, insufficient evidence prevented charges. Rhoda Roberts' death leaves the investigation into her sister Lois's murder unresolved.
