Summary
- Man's remains found in Welsh reservoir, identity unknown for 16 months.
- Facial reconstruction created to identify the man in wetsuit.
- Police appeal for information from anyone who may recognize him.

A digital reconstruction has been released by police in an effort to identify a man whose body was discovered in Claerwen Reservoir, Powys, 16 months ago. The remains were found by a walker on October 17, 2024, and have remained unidentified since. Officers estimate the man had been submerged for up to 12 weeks prior to discovery.
Limited clues, primarily a wetsuit, have made identification challenging. The man is described as white European, between 30 and 60 years old, approximately 6ft tall, and weighing between 202lbs and 220lbs. Extensive checks with UK and international police forces, along with DNA and fingerprint databases, have yielded no matches.
Dyfed-Powys Police partnered with Liverpool John Moores University's Face Lab to generate the facial depiction. This technology utilized CT scans, post-mortem, and dental reports to create a likeness. The image has been shared with Interpol and the Police National Computer in hopes of finding a match. Police implore anyone who might recognize the man or know of someone who has been missing to contact them.
