A repeat dog attack has led to a police complaint in Vastral. A 54-year-old woman reported being bitten on the right wrist by her neighbor's German shepherd on Friday evening. This incident follows a similar attack by the same dog approximately four months ago, where the woman sustained bites on her thigh, knee, and wrist.
The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has since taken custody of the dog, transferring it to the Danilimda Dog Welfare Shelter. AMC officials confirmed the dog is registered and vaccinated.
The victim was treated at an AMC community health center and later filed a complaint against the dog's owner, citing negligence for leaving the entrance open and failing to prevent the pet from posing a risk.
This incident echoes past events in Ahmedabad, including a March incident where a passerby was allegedly attacked by a pet German shepherd and a May 2025 case where a four-month-old girl was fatally mauled by a Rottweiler.
