Reality Star Arrested in $198K Real Estate Scam

Salomes Jackson, also known as Betty Idol from "Love & Hip-Hop," has been arrested as a result of an 11-month investigation into an alleged real estate fraud scheme. The scheme targeted victims in Volusia County, who collectively wired around $198,000 to purchase a vacant parcel of land in Orange City. Investigators discovered that the property was fraudulently listed for sale by individuals posing as the legitimate owners, using fake identification to deceive the real estate office. The victims' funds were wired to a fraudulent business account and subsequently moved through numerous shell businesses and bank accounts. Primarily, these financial activities occurred in Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey. Authorities traced debit card activity, purchases, and significant cash withdrawals across New York and Miami. Investigations have linked approximately $179,000 of the misappropriated funds directly to Jackson, based on bank records, receipts, flight records, surveillance video, and ATM footage.
