A Spanish judge has moved to indict Real Madrid's CEO and a company subsidiary following legal action by residents affected by loud concerts at the Bernabéu stadium. Initiated in 2024, the lawsuit by the Residents' Association for those Affected by the Bernabéu (AVPB) alleged that numerous concerts made local lives unbearable and caused health issues.
The judge, Mónica Aguirre, determined there were sufficient indications of criminal acts concerning environmental noise pollution. Legal documents indicate the club allegedly hired out the stadium for events despite knowing it lacked adequate acoustic insulation, posing risks to neighbours' health.
Although Real Madrid stated in September 2024 that it would cancel or reschedule concerts to comply with regulations, the AVPB continued their legal efforts. The association president claimed to have evidence of decibel levels exceeding health risk zones over 100 times.
