20 Feb
Summary
- Ranveer Singh received extortion threats from a Bishnoi gang member.
- The demand for Rs 20 crore was communicated via voice messages.
- Police have issued a lookout circular against the suspect, believed to be in Canada.

Actor Ranveer Singh is currently facing an extortion demand of Rs 20 crore from Harry Boxer, an alleged member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The threat was communicated via several voice messages left for Singh's manager from an international phone number. Following confirmation that the voice belonged to Boxer, police registered an FIR on February 17.
Authorities have since issued a lookout circular for Boxer, a native of Rajasthan who is believed to be operating from Canada. The investigation is being jointly handled by the crime branch's south region cyber cell and the anti-extortion cell.
This incident follows a February 1 firing on filmmaker Rohit Shetty's bungalow, with police examining the role of overseas handler Arzoo Bishnoi. Boxer's voice messages also referenced the earlier incident and threatened Bollywood more broadly, demanding compliance from Singh and Shetty.
Security measures around Singh's residence have been enhanced, and the actor has been advised to exercise caution during film shoots. This marks the second FIR against members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, with 12 individuals already arrested in connection with the February 1 firing incident.
