In Jamnagar, Gujarat, a disturbing murder case has emerged. Vijay Odich stands accused of strangling his friend's mother, 43-year-old Rinki Devi Katheriya, on Monday, March 23. Her body was discovered on Thursday, March 26, concealed within a sack at his uncle's residence.
The victim, a widow and factory worker, reportedly had a long-standing relationship with Odich. According to the FIR, Rinki Devi frequently demanded money from Odich and threatened to involve the police if he refused. This allegedly led Odich to commit the murder.
Odich, who was acquainted with the victim's son, initially feigned ignorance about her disappearance. He even participated in the family's search efforts after the victim's son reported her missing on the night of March 24. However, police interrogation led to Odich's confession.
He admitted to strangling Rinki Devi between 7pm and 8pm on March 23 at his uncle's property near Gayatri Temple. Odich then bound her body and placed it in a sack. The decomposed body was recovered by police and sent for an autopsy. Odich has been booked under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for murder.
