According to police reports, the survivor went missing on June 18 and was allegedly sold to a hotel owner by a rickshaw puller. Investigators revealed she was subsequently raped by more than 30 men over five days in various city hotels.
Investigators have arrested 12 individuals so far, and the operation continues to identify and apprehend additional suspects. The FIR indicates that several hotel owners and operators facilitated the exploitation of the minor. Residents are demanding the demolition of illegal hotels and capital punishment for the accused.
The Congress party has also staged protests, criticizing the administration's oversight and demanding stringent action against all parties involved in this disturbing crime.
