Radiographer Filmed Naked Scans for Pleasure

A radiographer has been removed from the professional register after transforming patient CT scans into explicit 3D images for his sexual gratification. Ian Hardman, 62, utilized specialized medical software to render abdominal and pelvic scans of six women into life-like 3D visuals of their naked torsos. These modifications were performed without any clinical justification, raising immediate concerns among his colleagues.

Hardman claimed the altered scans were for 'educational purposes,' despite his extensive 40-year career. However, the Health and Care Professions Tribunal Service concluded the acts were driven by his 'sexual proclivities.' The tribunal noted the scans were unusually processed for 'soft tissue' settings, resulting in detailed visualizations of female genitalia.

The illicit image modifications took place at Highfield Hospital in Rochdale on December 20, 2023, within a tight 33-minute timeframe. Hospital management confirmed there was no clinical necessity or educational benefit to Hardman's actions, leading to his immediate striking off, preventing him from further practice as a health professional.
