A 40-year-old man from Punjab, identified as Ranjit Singh of Daulatpura village in Ferozepur district, was fatally shot in Manila, Philippines. Singh, who had relocated to Manila to establish a finance business with his elder brother, was reportedly attacked on May 8 while on his way to collect outstanding debts.
According to police reports, Singh was intercepted by two assailants on a motorcycle and shot in the back of the head at close range, resulting in his immediate death. Preliminary investigations suggest the murder could be connected to his finance business, a suspicion echoed by his wife. At the time of the incident, his elder brother was visiting their native village in Punjab, leaving Ranjit to manage the business alone.
