In a significant crackdown, Punjab police have detained 4,871 individuals during the 3-day 'Operation Prahaar,' a key phase of the 'Gangstran Te Vaar' initiative. This extensive operation saw 3,526 arrests across the state as part of a sustained campaign to eradicate gangster activities.
During the intensive 72-hour operation, law enforcement teams recovered substantial illicit items, including 69 weapons, 6.5 kg of heroin, 10.5 kg of opium, and over 5,000 intoxicant pills. Additionally, 80 proclaimed offenders were apprehended, and 25 preventive arrests were made.
More than 12,000 police personnel were deployed in over 2,000 teams to execute raids at locations linked to 60 foreign-based gangsters. This intelligence-driven strike targeted the logistics, finances, and communication networks supporting criminal elements, achieving remarkable success.
