In Pune district, a 21-year-old woman was allegedly abducted on Tuesday evening. The incident occurred around 4 pm in Bhigwan village, Indapur taluka, when the woman was traveling with her family. Their vehicle was intercepted, and assailants reportedly threw chilli powder into the eyes of her mother and brother before abducting the woman.
A case has been registered at Bhigwan Police Station against two brothers, Zaheer Haroon Shaikh and Ayan Haroon Shaikh, from Daund. Police indicate the accused and the victim knew each other. Call and message records are being examined as part of the investigation into their prior contact.
Authorities have intensified search operations across the district and surrounding areas to locate the accused and the victim. The incident had caused tension in the locality, leading to protests that were later withdrawn after initial details emerged. Security measures remain heightened as the investigation progresses.
