In Pune, eight men are facing charges for brutally assaulting two 20-year-old law college students with a baseball bat. The violent incident occurred early Friday morning in a residential society located in Viman Nagar. Both victims suffered head injuries and required immediate hospitalization at a private facility in Yerawada.
Airport police have registered a case of attempt to murder based on a complaint filed by one of the injured students, who is originally from Jharkhand. Investigators are actively searching for the suspects. Police reports indicate the assault stemmed from a minor dispute that escalated at a club in Kalyani Nagar.
Authorities stated that the assailants pursued several students from the club to their housing society in Viman Nagar following the altercation over an inconsequential matter. The primary complainant returned to his society around 2 am on Friday and discovered his friends being attacked. When he attempted to intervene, he and his roommate were allegedly struck with a baseball bat.
