Following the incident, the police formed multiple teams that proceeded to Pune and Kalyan, Mumbai, and conducted several raids. A vehicle used in the crime was seized from Ambivali, Thane, and brought to Goa. The team also camped in Irani Basti, Pune, and Ambivali to identify the suspects.

With the assistance from the Pune crime branch, Irani was eventually arrested and remanded in four days of police custody. North Goa SP Rahul Gupta stated that the investigation is ongoing.
