A 26-year-old resident of Pune, identified as Rohan Salve, was arrested by Khadak police early Friday morning. The arrest followed an incident where Salve allegedly abused and pushed police officers at the police station premises.
The situation began late Thursday night when Salve, in an inebriated state, caused a disturbance at an eatery on Tilak Road. The owner of the eatery contacted the police control room, leading to Salve's detention and transport to the police station.
At the station, Salve reportedly continued his disruptive behavior, directing abuse and physical force towards the officers present. A formal complaint was lodged by a police constable on Saturday morning, resulting in a case being registered under charges of assault and using criminal force against public servants to deter them from their duties. Salve was produced before a city court and remanded to police custody until Sunday.
