In Nigdi, Pune, a violent incident occurred late Sunday night when an autorickshaw driver was targeted by a nine-man gang. The driver was subjected to a beating and robbed of Rs 3,000. This attack took place near his parked autorickshaw in the Nigdi Ota Scheme area.
When concerned neighbours rushed to the scene following the commotion, some members of the gang brandished sharp weapons to threaten them. This display of aggression deterred further intervention and heightened the fear among residents.
The victim reported the incident to the Nigdi police on Monday. Authorities have since registered a case against the nine alleged perpetrators, charging them under sections related to dacoity and voluntarily causing hurt within the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
