AI Cams Nab 76 Criminals During Pune Fest

Pune police have implemented an advanced AI-enabled CCTV surveillance system, successfully identifying 76 criminals on bail during the ongoing Ganeshotsav celebrations. This technology, continuously monitored by a dedicated team, scans facial records to detect individuals with outstanding warrants or criminal histories. Upon a match, an immediate alert is dispatched to the nearest police station, allowing for prompt detention and interrogation to prevent potential offenses such as theft and assault.

The AI cameras are equipped with night-vision capabilities, ensuring round-the-clock monitoring critical for crowd management and devotee safety in busy areas. Complementing this surveillance, approximately 400 to 500 speakers have been strategically placed in key locations. These speakers will broadcast direct instructions to citizens, manage crowd flow, and disseminate safety advisories during emergencies, further bolstering security and preventing untoward incidents throughout the festival.
