Psychiatrist Resigns After Clancy Trial Testimony

Avram Mack, a psychiatrist with Nemours Children's Health, has resigned from his position following his testimony in the high-profile Lindsay Clancy murder trial. Mack resigned on Monday, August 24th, a spokesperson for the health system confirmed. He had served as a prosecution witness and evaluated Clancy prior to the trial.

During his testimony on August 21st and remotely on August 24th, Mack informed the jury that he believed Clancy was aware her actions toward her children were wrong. The Patriot Ledger reported that Mack also stated he found no indications of psychosis in Clancy's medical records and would not have diagnosed her with bipolar disorder. Clancy is accused of murdering her three young children: Cora, 5; Dawson, 3; and 8-month-old Callan. The defense attorney reportedly engaged in a contentious cross-examination regarding postpartum depression.
