Prosecutors Seek 11-Year Sentence for Diddy's "Decades of Abuse"
30 Sep
Summary
- Prosecutors urge 11-year prison term for Sean "Diddy" Combs
- Citing "decades of abuse" and a letter from ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura
- Combs was acquitted of sex trafficking but convicted on prostitution charges

According to court filings from federal prosecutors, rap mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs deserves a prison sentence of no less than 11 years for his "decades of abuse" and manipulation. This comes after Combs was acquitted of more serious sex trafficking charges but convicted on lesser prostitution charges in a trial that concluded this past June.
Prosecutors have urged the judge to impose the lengthy sentence, citing a sworn statement from Combs' ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, who described him as a "cruel, power-hungry, manipulative man" with no interest in changing. Ventura, the primary alleged victim, said Combs' defense attorneys' claims that he is a "changed man" deserving of a second chance are false.
Combs was arrested and charged in September 2024 with racketeering and sex trafficking violations over accusations that he ran a criminal operation facilitating "freak-offs" where he allegedly forced Ventura and other women to have sex with male escorts while he watched. While he was cleared of the most serious charges, Combs was still convicted on two counts of transporting Ventura and others across state lines for the purposes of prostitution.
With sentencing set for this Friday, Combs' lawyers have asked the judge to reject the "draconian" 11-year sentence and release him almost immediately, citing the partial acquittal. But prosecutors argue the judge can still consider Combs' overall history of violence and the manner in which he committed his prostitution offenses.
