Prisoner Charged With Attempted Murder in Yorkshire Jails

Ahmed Ali Alid, a 47-year-old Moroccan national, has been charged in connection with assaults on staff at two Yorkshire prisons. The charges stem from separate incidents that occurred in late 2025.
Alid is accused of attempted murder following an incident at HMP Full Sutton in August 2025. Two months later, in October 2025, he allegedly committed actual bodily harm against a staff member at HMP Wakefield. He also faces a charge of possessing an offensive weapon in prison.
He remains in custody within the prison estate. Alid is expected to make an appearance at Westminster Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
