Investigators deployed a sniffer dog, which twice led them to the shanty of a 60-year-old local priest located about 200 feet away. The priest was questioned by police on Friday regarding the infant's disappearance.
Tragically, on Saturday morning, villagers found the priest hanging from a tree in a nearby jungle. Police have initiated a separate investigation into his death. Search operations for the missing infant are ongoing, with authorities exploring any potential link between the priest's demise and the child's abduction.
