On October 5th, 2025, a nine-month pregnant woman named Anju was abducted from her village in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior district. The kidnappers, led by Yogendra Gurjar, forced Anju to walk nearly 25 kilometers through a rugged forest terrain, leaving her legs bruised and bleeding.
During the attack, Anju's mother-in-law, grandmother-in-law, and uncle-in-law were also assaulted and injured, requiring hospitalization. The police immediately launched a search operation and set up blockades in the area.
On October 6th, the police received a tip-off about the kidnappers' location in the Lanka Pahad region. Sensing the police presence, the abductors abandoned Anju in the forest and fled the scene. The police then rescued the injured woman and transported her to Kamla Raja Hospital for treatment.
Authorities are currently searching for Yogendra Gurjar and his accomplices involved in the kidnapping and assault. The incident has left the community shaken, and the police are working to ensure the safety of the residents in the area.
