A pregnant woman, identified as 31-year-old Pinky Hanumant Katkar from Raigad, was brutally murdered in Dhule's Gartadabari area. She was allegedly assaulted and subsequently set on fire with petrol, a crime police have linked to an internal dispute at a 'kala kendra'.
Four individuals, Sarfaraz Momin, Arif Sheikh, Swati Kurade, and Laxmi Pawar, have been arrested in connection with the murder. However, two other accused, Farukh Sheikh and Rohini Jadhav, are still absconding, and police are conducting extensive searches to apprehend them.
The investigation revealed that Katkar was first assaulted in Beed and then transported towards Rajasthan. During this journey, the accused allegedly stopped in Dhule's Gartadabari area, where she was doused with petrol and set alight.
Crucial leads were obtained from CCTV footage, which helped investigators identify a suspicious vehicle. This led to the detention of the four arrested suspects, two of whom were women working at the 'kala kendra', assisting police in reconstructing the events leading to the fatal assault.
