On the night of October 19, 2025, a pregnant woman was brutally beaten to death by her nephew in Kanpur, India. The victim, Mohini, a 35-year-old resident of Jasapur, was two months pregnant at the time of the incident.
According to the police report, Mohini's husband, Raju Katheriya, had come to their village with his wife for the Diwali festival. Around 1:30 AM on October 20, 2025, Mohini's nephew, Krishna, also known as Shivam, started abusing her after consuming alcohol. When Mohini protested, Krishna began beating her, leading to her death on the spot due to multiple blows to the face.
Following the incident, Krishna fled the scene. Raju immediately informed the police, who arrived at the location and initiated an investigation. Mangalpur station officer Mahesh Kumar and Derapur circle officer Rajiv Sirohi gathered evidence from the crime scene and registered a murder case based on Raju's complaint. Efforts are currently underway to apprehend the accused.
The tragic incident has left the community in shock, and the authorities are determined to bring the perpetrator to justice.
