The couple, married four years ago, shared a two-year-old son, while Pushpa had two older children from a previous marriage. The assault reportedly occurred on Monday, with Pushpa's family suggesting she may have hit Vijay in self-defense, sustaining an injury to his nose. Vijay initially claimed Pushpa died of a natural fit, but bruises on her body raised suspicions.
